My husband was diagnoised with Cellabella Ataxia 4 years ago but his condition was moving too quickly. Then he had a DatScan which showed PSP. Some of the sysmptoms are same both conditions have no cure & very little treatment

Hi Sue,

Sorry to hear of your husband's health problems. My guess would be that the diagnosis of Cerebellar Ataxia was a wrong diagnosis and he's had PSP all along. So many of the neurological conditions have similar symptoms and PSP is often wrongly diagnosed as something else :-(

I hope you have a good support network around you. I would suggest that you join the PSP association ( if you havn't already done so) as they have loads of useful advice and provide great support.

You can find details of how to join on their website

pspeur.org

Much love to both of you

hi sue,

im the other way round from your husband , i was diagnosed with CBD

in 2007 and now they are telling me that i have got spinocerebellar

ataxia type 2 witch they say is very rare but the neurologist said they

are so much alike its still classed as a CBD syndrome its treatment is

the same and there is no cure also its a slower progresive condition,

all the best,
