Hi I’m Lorraine and my sister has been recently diagnosed with late stages of PSP having previously been diagnosed with Mental Health and Neurological problems
She has now lost her speech and has several outbursts of screaming along with losing a lot of weight and has been given ‘one to one care’ in the Roseberry Park Mental Health Hospital
My question is she is starting to have seizures is this a common in PSP patients

Hello - I’m so sorry to hear that. My mum passed away from PSP in June and she never had any seizures, and didn’t scream out loud. I’m not a medical professional though so this is not medical advice but might be worth getting a second opinion. She did lose weight however, due to lack of swallowing ability limiting food intake, and also lost her speech.
Hi, sorry to hear about your sister and you are going through. My mum has CBD, late stages and has had 4 seizures in the last 6 months, 2 were on the same day a few weeks ago. After the 1st seizure which mum had in hospital we were advised they would become more frequent.
My wife suffered from PSP-RS (Richardson syndrome type) and we never observed seizures.
In the documents and information I have had the opportunity to read I have not found any mention of seizures in PSP patients.
The information from "bichonbear1" is the first news.
Perhaps it could be a lack of electrolytes in the blood:
"Isotonic drinks are interesting to help maintain blood electrolytes at the correct level. Lack of the proper level of electrolytes in the blood can cause spasms."
Trying the intake of Aquarius type drinks recommended for athletes can be an interesting and risk-free test
