My Mum passed away on 29 December. Approx 2 years after her diagnosis of CBD.
I am so comforted that, as per her wishes, she stayed at home.
the NHS have been amazing, she had carers 4x a day and every piece of equipment they though could help,
She was “well” until 23 December and I then just knew she was dying. Her eyes changed, she couldn’t stand at all and was very sleepy. She was nursed at home in her own little bed with the help of the District and Marie Curie nurses. My siblings and I done 2 hour shifts through the night. She had a syringe driver for pain meds and was lucid until the last few hours.
I am heartbroken and in denial but so at peace that we were able to keep her at home.
My darling little Mum Frances was a quiet little warrior.

I’m so pleased that you all had the right support from the NHS. I know what you mean about the change in her eyes, I saw that too with my mum but I can’t describe what it was that was different. Hugs.
So very sorry for your loss. You are justified in feeling at peace for keeping her wishes and caring for her at home where she felt safe. Be proud. Hugs and prayers 🤗🙏
I’m sending you love during this difficult time. How blessed your mum was to have you looking after her and with her at the end. I really hope you are able to look after yourself and that the coming time brings you lots of happy memories of your mum xx
I am so very sorry for your loss, but so glad to hear that you were able to keep your mum at home and that everything went as well as can be hoped for. You and your siblings did a great job. Wishing you peace, love and happy memories of your mum.
