Wheelchair renting

NHS couldn’t offer us a specialised wheelchair for my Dad so we contacted The Care Team (Manchester area). Someone comes out and measures up for a suitable chair and then you can rent them on a monthly basis until you finish paying for it or send it back. It cost us about £90 a month (total cost £1200) a new one would have been about £2000. We’ve finished paying it off now so it’s ours. They also provide ramps if needed.

PSPA charity have a £250 support grant that you can claim towards things like this.

Hope this helps, my Dad is so much more comfortable in his chair than in the standard one we got from NHS.
