A whiskey and Dry Ginger with thickener it, worked wonders for my husband, served with Cheese and onion crisps! Even when he had lost the ability to swallow, he always managed to get these down him, without choking, right up until the end!

Depends what stage they are at and what they enjoy. Are we talking solely food or would something like a nice shower gel & body lotion or a hand massage and manicure work? Mum's mobile hairdresser also used to do her nails for her and she loved that little bit of pampering, choosing the colour and then matching her outfits to it. And all the carers would comment when they came in. It was only a small thing but made the world of difference.

My husband loved ice cream. I understand they develop a sweet tooth as the illness progresses.

He loved being taken out for a drive in the car in the afternoons. It was a bit difficult at times getting him in and out of the car, but it was worth it.

Also inviting their friends round for a coffee and chat. Hubby enjoyed reminiscing with ex work colleagues, and chats about football which he had a keen interest in.

My mum loves these for a treat:spacemasks.com

They are self heating eye masks and really help her to nap when she needs to.

Sometimes we listen to music, sometimes I put one on too and we both get a power nap!

Ice Cream... obviously. French vanilla, butterscotch/caramel with a good single malt scotch drizzled over it. I always welcomed massage and a nice back wash.

We make my loved one cake shakes a piece of cake with ice cream blended together. It's her favorite.
