They hear until the end.

Iam not trying to say “advice” or “you should” … but

I saw from my ex that he was able to hear and comprehend what I was saying to the very end.

So, when speaking to/with your loved one know they are back there somewhere ….. and most likely, be like my ex, and hear your words.

Everyday is a battle not to be negative as anyone who’s watched and/or cared for a loved one with these diseases. 😥

You are right about hearing up to the end. In the last few weeks when my husband’s friends and ex colleagues visited and recalled past times together, even though he looked as if he was sleeping, he would join in with a smile or thumbs up. Hope you are doing ok.

Lots of love

You are correct the hearing never goes. That's why its important to walk away with sensitive conversations. And try to control emotions so the person dosen't get upset. Not always possible but very important.

So very true about trying to control emotions. The last night my ex was alive and I was holding his hand- I broke down saying how much I always loved him. I felt guilty for being selfish and him having to watch me break down. (I told him other things about how great he was…..but breaking down to the extent I did was “beyond the pale”).

At least he knew how you felt. I'm sorry for your loss.
