CHC

Unfortunately, here in Sheffield, we did not get it, because , to use their words, I was fulfilling all his needs and so they didn’t need to.

The fact that I was in my 70s, constantly passing out with exhaustion and stress and had arthritis and asthma, did not alter their decision.

It was only when my son got involved , and threatened publication of the facts, that they even considered it.

By the time my husband got it, he was in a care home and only had it for about 3 months, before he died.

Huge sympathies. I'm sorry for your loss and for the personal hell that preceded it.

CHC is a nightmare, an unfairness, a lottery-driven process that's almost worse than NO help being available to ANYONE.

Really sorry for what you went through. Sometimes I despair about people. How can they be so mean? Then someone comes along and restores my faith in at least some of the human race. I hope you are able to treat yourself with some of the kindness you deserve.

Not what you're looking for?
