Hi all,

We have an assessment meeting that has suddenly been arranged for Saturday.

I am trying to find the information about CHC funding which I know I've see before on here. Please could someone tell me how to find the relevant posts. Thank you in anticipation. X

Hello thereIf you look up Kevin - 1 He is a fount of information.

Also if you can get support from your District Nursing Sister who could be with you it all helps.

We were supported by both the nurses and GP so never had any difficulties with CHC Funding. But you need to stress the worst case scenarios!

Good Luck, keep on keeping on.

Thank you Anne, I did finally find Kevin's posts last night. We understand assessment has been done over the phone at mum's care home but haven't been shown any information yet. Trying to contact people when you feel against the clock is very frustrating.

Thanks again Heather

The above link is a great place to give you the most up to date information on CHC and is regularly updated. It was invaluable to me whilst caring for my husband.

Good luck.

Glad you are having a look - it might take a bit of time to wade through buts it’s an invaluable site for providing tips to negotiate the minefield of getting CHC and of course is updated regularly. Rod lost his battle with PSP 2 years ago but I still get the updates by email and have on many occasions been able to pass on some helpful tips to friends.xx

Look on the PSPA website under documents for professionals, there is a really good document there that helps to build links across the different criteria. Our Community Matron used it successfully for mum and other PSP sufferers. I know this isn't nice but if the GP raises a DS1500 form, which says the person is not expected to live more than 6 months, that can open the way for fast track CHC.Good luck, having been there I know how heartless the process can feel. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome 🀞. xxx
