Has anyone tried Cymbalta (duloxetine) for numbness and nerve pain? Already on Lyrica have been for over 5 years, but doctor said my husband can also take this with Lyrica. Would like to hear anyone's else's experience with this drug. Thanks

I've never heard of taking both - one or the other only. Or ask about taking one plus gabopentin, which is for nerve pain. Cymbalta has an anti-depressant.

HI YellowMarlene, I am not familiar with use of Cymbalta for nerve pain. However, there is another medication called Neurotin that is often used for Nerve pain. Not sure of its compatibility with Lyrica.

Good to see you posting-we communicating privately quite some time ago. Private message me anytime.

My mom was on it for a while. It seemed to work

Unfortunately, after reading side effects to any medicine, it comes down to individual reactions.

Good luck

Yes, I was on it for 6 months and had side effects. It took me almost three years to get off of it because the withdrawal symptoms are so severe. Even after tapering down I had to be admitted in the hospital to deal with the withdrawal. Please, google Cymbalta withdrawal before taking it because 65% of the people that take it, experience withdrawal like I did. Also I would recommend getting a DNA that shows what meds will work for you. We all metabolize meds differently. That saved my life. Insurance won’t pay for it but it was worth the $200.

Thank you for your advise. My husband started it for several days a couple weeks ago. He didn't like it and quit soon after a several days. He seems to be worse the last couple weeks I never really put the two together but maybe that's what it is. I will keep this in mind for the next few days. Thanks again

You’re welcome! I’m glad he’s off of it. Hopefully he can find other options. Take care.
