Finding Carers

Hi all I am in the UK. Has anyone beard of or used a company called Super Carers. I was researching carers who have training in caring for people with brain disease. This company identify carers close to where you live. I haven't contacted them as yet until I research around this area in more detail. Many thanks

I’m also in the U.K. and never heard of them, have you tried ringing social services adult care and asking about the local care companies, they might be able to steer you in the direction of what you need.

Love and hugs xxx

Here’s a site with reviews of them on it. I don’t know how reliable it is.

trustpilot.com/review/super...

I toyed with the idea of having a care giver in and contacted the local franchise of another group in my area. Reading their reviews half were from the care givers sent by the agency complaining they were thrown into situations they were ill equipped to deal with.

If you do contact them make the situation as clear as possible as to what would be need done. Who ever you contact will no doubt tell you no problem.

Good luck.

I am in London - have not heard of them.

We used Bluebird carers who were fab - I was involved in the care planning and they limited the number of carers to a core of 6 as communication was a huge challenge. We had regular reviews and updated care package as needed.

Ask at your local PSP support group who people are using local to you for a recommendation.

Hi Tippy

You raise a very good point.

I think Bluebird is a franchise type organisation. We have one here. They had an excellent reputation/ However they got a crazy / arrogant Nurse /manager and even the CHC nurse was shocked at their behaviour towards us. Local performance is everything.

Hope everything is going well for you.

Hugs

Absolutely agree a care providers staff are key - we were incredibly fortunate and I do recognise not everyone has the same experience. Good to see you back on the forum, hope you are doing OK

Hello - we started paying for care and then as my husbands care needs increased we succeeded with an application for Continuing Health Care (CHC ) funding . I requested we continue with Bluebird as we had received excellent care - huge battle with the CCG to do this but I stuck my ground based on my husband’s need and ultimately CCG agreed.

Take a look on the PSPA website for info on CHC funding.

Please do come back with any queries - lots of experience of this site .

Hello there

CQC have a web site which assesses care homes and suppliers. I used a local company here in Gloucestershire but later discovered they had branches further afield with their HQ in Surrey. They enjoy a good reputation and I had a core team which was added to as and when Chris's condition deteriorated. We started with one carer once a day and ended up with four visits a day each with two carers. They supported me and I was able to step back when they were here, unless they wanted me for a query. I had complete confidence in them and also their line manager.

I hope this helps, hugs x

Never heard of them. But then I have had lots of problems getting carers at all! Contact adult social services for an assessment. They should be able to advise.Jaynex

Sorry for the late reply. We live in south manchester and are with Right at Home .. they are wonderful . An umbrella American organisation with franchises around the country I think . We have consistency with who visits, they are kind, thorough, constantly having extra training , they really do care .
