Beautiful Tim. At long last, I can recongnise and understand what she is saying and am trying hard to live by it. Works, most of the time!

Lots of love

I have read that poem many times in the past and thought that I understood and felt the meaning of the words but it has been 6 months since my dear husband Roy passed and only now do I I truly understand.....

Xx love to you all x D

Thanks, Tim. That is a very good thing for me to read this morning, and I will try to keep those words in mind. It's wise and true, although sometimes grieving feels like the only thing I can do.

That made me cry. Twelve weeks today since he died.

Very nice Tim, some things to think about, smile open your heart love and go on, that's what I shall think about, how Mum wouldn't want me to be forever sad, just finished your second book it was a delight to read, many moments where I could just picture it all, in your house with the cats and dogs, Mum left me with her dog Jack he's nearly 17 a bit stiff and slow but reminds me of Mum every day when I look into his old eyes, love to all Julie xx

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Volume III has a planned release for sometime this summer. Would please consider leaving a book review if you purchased it through Amazon.

Thanks Tim, it's something I need to try and do. I had come across it when I was choosing a poem for Will's thanksgiving service.

Lots of love Nanny857xx Ps

My father use to say something similar "Don't dwell on your sadness for those not with us, but rejoice for what was shared"....something similar

In the meantime....there is the process that is so necessary for healing.

Thanks for your post...………….good to be reminded.

Los Angeles, CA, USA (BTW, got your book, but other things on my plate have gotten in the way of starting it).

Tim,

I choose memories, there are plenty of them, and I smile. They help me look at tomorrow.

Thanks for the reminder Tim. You're an inspiration for so many of us on here. I know it isn't easy for you. I really don't know how you do it.

Take care,

Pat

Mum chose this poem for the final reading at her funeral (5 weeks ago already) and I thought it was apt, she brought so much to life to so many people, it would be such a waste not to remember a life well lived & try to follow her example. xxx

Beautiful, and certainly a wonderful way to view life and death. I hope when our time comes I can reflect on those loving affirmations. Currently we are in a bit of a decline, hope it lees off soon. Warm hugs to all- NC Pat

To give a different view to counter-balance the appreciation which I have too, I am actually not feeling the empathy in this quote. Empathy is something I experience always in every post in here, so full of compassion and the capacity to be in the other's shoes. In my experience and view, there is not a duality in grief, grief is not a choice, is a state of being and it is vital that we can 'dance' the dance of emotions when they arise, like waves, rather than suppressing them. We can shed tears because our beloved one has gone or going AND we can smile because they have lived, and so on. The word AND to substitute the word OR is key to my process of grief. For everyone will be different, each at our own pace. Thanks for sharing, it helped me identify my needs more clearly, and to give permission to myself for all my emotions. Warmly, Antonella

Grief is different for everyone as you say. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. I'm glad that this poem connected with you in a way you needed it to. At the end of it all, I hope you find peace and comfort in such a way that suits you.

Thank you so much for sharing those beautiful words. Yes, so true, and helps me to focus on the positive which is what my lovely husband Paul would want me to do.

Very well said ,for I get peace and comfort to take Kathy out to the park

or to do gardening , look at my tropical fish tank , or fly my quads (drones) and remembering the happy time together.when I am not with

Kathy I think the beauty of flowers gives peace the most..... Peter
