Vitalstim for dysphagia?

Yes! My mother's SLP used AmpCare and Vital Stim during weeks of swallow therapy. The idea is to improve swallow strength and speed. The SLP used AmpCare more frequently as she thought the response was better, but used VitalStim a bit, too. The followup barium swallow test showed much improvement (not perfect), but much improvement over the first test.

My mother is able to safely eat bbq sandwiches and enchiladas instead of pureed gruel..so quality of life is much improved...for now.
