Welcome to the site. Eventually you may find you need a wheel chair to get around. That could be some time in the future. The best thing to do for this disease is to exercise to help maintain your ability to move safely.
Thank you
Welcome. Yes a wheelchair is a definite possibility. I'd spend some time reading back posts. Ask any questions you have plus letting us know where you reside in the world will help tailor answers for you.

We have what is called a companion wheelchair. It’s lightweight and easy for me to lift in and out of our car. I take it with us for occasions when hubby starts to feel faint. I never know when that’s going to happen but it’s nice to have it on hand just in case. It also depends on how long we’re going to be out and if there’s a long walk ahead. I will push the chair for him. The larger chairs with the big wheels for the patient to push themselves is heavy and they can be awkward trying to get through doorways. My husband cannot use his arms very well and so the larger wheel option was a no go for us. Then theres the electric wheelchair that he can operate with one hand but he has trouble with the joystick and we have several drywall designer dings. It’s a personal preference I think. We don’t always need it but it’s nice to have. There have been times when I’ve used the companion wheelchair inside the house simply to get him from his recliner to bed. A short distance but worth it to prevent a fall. I hope this helps.
I should have started this reply by welcoming you to the site. Sorry, I just kind of jumped right in there and tried to answer your question. It’s been a really long day. There’s tons of information on this site and I’m glad that you found us. Are you a caregiver or ? Please feel free to tell us about yourself so that we can provide feedback. It helps to know that you aren’t alone.

Welcome to the site but sorry you had cause to join. I bought a lightweight wheelchair quite early on which my husband used as a walker if we went out. He could then sit in it if needed or I’d push him if we needed to hurry or it started to rain. It also meant he wasn’t holding onto me which, being a big man, hurt my back. Eventually we got an electric one which I controlled and enabled us to go to many more places easily. It meant we had to get a wheelchair adapted vehicle as well but well worth it.
Best wishes
