My dad with cbd

Hi everyone,

My dad seems to have moved to a different stage. He is very vague no concept of Time, and is sure his meds have been altered again. I'm going to be staying with mum and dad 3 days a week to give mum a chance to get a full nights sleep.

Good for you, your mum needs her sleep. Without help from family & friends I would have cracked years ago. One good point is that as the disease has progressed my wife has slept well and I am still able to get a good nights sleepGood luck and God bless. Ken.

Hi have you found it hard to regulate your wifes meds so she isn't in so much pain

Hi she has not had much pain, early on I used to give her co-codamol just in case. I stopped this as it can be addictive. Since then I haven't had to use anything stronger than paracetamol. The district nurses visit everyday they do have diamorphine in their box, but we're not there yet.

When you say vague concept of time do you mean like he doesn't know if 10 minutes or 4 hrs have past? As for the meds, show your dad the bottle, let him see you put a mark of some sort on the bottle. Next time he questions his meds show him the bottle with mark, hopefully he'll remember you putting it there.

It's good you can help your mom so she gets some rest. 24/7 care giving can easily lead to burnout.
