Hi AnneandChris: Sorry - no (hubby has cbd and left side dysfunction: I just asked him about pins & needles) - but I see some historic posts from knitter13, kaka1234 and gypsywoman1947 who all inquired about the same thing - so likely IS a psp/cbd symptom. Maybe some more info on those strings?
Hope you find useful information...PS: I have more pins & needles than hubby does. uh-oh.....
kevin thank you for this. I don't think he is on any Parkinson's meds. He was on Sinemet early on but this was stopped when it was deemed it wasn't doing any good. He is on Rivastigmine 13.3 mg patches.
We're seeing the Specialist nurse practitioner in a weeks time so will mention it then.
Chris's cognitive function has been impaired right from the start and there has been a slight decline recently, but he still retains a sense of humour.
The Rivastigmine patches have increased in strength over the course of the last couple of years. But I would say they are beneficial particularly with regard to balance.
Thank you. I did not realize they could help with balance. Dan has also shown changes in executive thinking skills, and slight personality changes from the beginning. Friends noticed he was not as outgoing or engaged in conversation. To me, those changes are the hardest to accept. He rarely says even a word now.
So interesting to see the similarity in symptoms. My husband was very outgoing, story telling and the life of the party. Then he stopped participating, and would just close his eyes. When I asked him, he said he was ‘bored’ !! I know he is listening to conversations, but just sits there. It’s very disconcerting. But at least he’s still kind of “there”. He takes sinemet, so maybe it would be interesting to try another type of meds.
My CBD husband is exactly the same Caroline. But he isn't on any meds except rivastigmine - which is actually for Alzheimers. He was given that when they didn't know what condition he had and he chose to keep it going. I don't think it makes any difference.
