Has anyone tried this? I've just learned about this a a promising treatment for neurodegenerative Disease. There are studies showing efficacy with Alzheimer's.
Trials seem minimal and mostly on animals and Canadian trials look like in very early stages. However I have no knowledge of lasers or treatments.
I do remember in my childhood days hearing about wonderful brain surgery - lobotomy, to help depression. It ruined a neighbour's brain and brain surgeons have come light years ahead since!
Then there were x-ray machines to make sure your new shoes fitted. They have disappeared since the dangers of x-rays have been thoroughly researched.
We can all understand the desire to clutch at straws when dealing with family affected with PSP, CBD, etc and Alzheimer's and dementia, when we see the person we know suffering.
Can't help thinking that some of the drug trials on patients may offer more immediate results!
There have been comments here on the AbVie trial which looks promising. Sadly, the person undergoing this trial has died suddenly quite recently. Am interested in any trial on patients, but purely from a personal interest as my hubby died from CBD 2 years ago.
Jen, I hear you - still, a few connected things stand out for me:
My hubby (CBD) avoided sun like the plague:
When his blood was tested at first medical investigation, he was "significantly" Vitamin D deficient (goes with the above, and our cloudy "northern" location) no other abnormalities
Vitamin D is proven? or just strongly clinically believed to have a significant role in brain health
The study Bill has linked has to do with "light"......
It's just interesting to me. I hope they go further with the research!
