A fighter and Doreen’s hero

Geoff lost his battle to PSP early hours this morning. He died peacefully at home which was what he always wished for. It’s been a gruelling few days for all the family but knowing his wishes were full filled makes it seem more acceptable. After all the battles regarding care we could not of had more thoughtful, compassionate and respectful carers and district nurses. Macmillan and Marie Curie also played a part in Geoff’s final journey and eased ours to. No more suffering for a very brave hero. Xx

Hi

Yes, a very brave man.

I am sorry for the pain and loss you must all feel.

I am so pleased his suffering has come to an end.

Tou and Doreen were amazing in the way you fought to give him what he needed and what a struggle you had! I admire you both greatly... No-one could have asked for better.

I wish you all some healing from the struggle and your loss.

Warmly

Kevin

Dear Michelle (and Wheelrace)

I'm so sorry you have lost Geoff. You couldn't have done more - you were dedicated carers. But you have achieved something most of us would want for our suffering loved ones: a dignified, peaceful death at home with family close by.

Best wishes for your recovery: and give your mum-in-law a hug for us.

I’m so so sorry! As hard as it is knowing that our loves one are cared for to reach this end, it must be so difficult to be there. Heartfelt sympathies.

I am so very sorry. He really was Doreen's hero wasn't he? May he rest in peace. He has been through enough. I am so glad she finally got him home along with the care he needed and deserved.

She will need support now as she will be so lost. Please give her my love and best wishes.

Gosh another one of our community has lost a loved one in the last few weeks, it seems to go in phases Michelle. Like Ben, his wishes to die peacefully at home were honoured and that he must have felt he love as he slipped away finally released from the horrors of this disease.

Sending much love

Another journey begins for you and your family, be kind to yourselves, you will be in a fog for quite a while and at times the pain will overwelm you, but the strangest thing for me is when i remember rog now i can only see him well, not so very ill, some comfort for me.

Rest now
