Difficulty in swallowing: try using a blender to liquidising food. Supplemented with food powders. Baby foods.
Use drink thickers
If things get serious consult you GP about PEG feeding.
Watch out for food/drink staying in oesophagus, leads to aspirational pneumonia.
Thanks Daffodil. Like I posted on the earlier version - It clearly makes the tongue stronger. I wonder if it would actually help the swallowing mechanism in the back of the throat? I have a feeling the disease stops the epiglottis (?) working properly and that causes choking. But this device would help speech. I would certainly get Ruth to try it if it helped swallowing.
