Hi Donna

My Mum has PSP and suffers very badly with her neck, shoulders and arms the only thing that has given her a little relief is Cortizone injections - in the top of her arm/back but unfortunately it took several attempts to get it in the right place to see some effect, this has been going on for about 6 months my Mum has been on Morphine for the pain which hasn't helped either, unfortunately it seems like it is another symptom of this horrible disease! My Mum was that bad she couldn't hold a drink or feed herself now she is a little better.

I hope your husband gets some pain relief as I know my Mum was and still is in a lot of pain through this!

Kind Regards Janet Stott

There are some medications that can help with this it is important that you discuss with your specialist.

My father used clonazepam to help control muscle spasms but also had botox shots in his neck, shoulders and forearms to help with severe rigidty.

I had the same this was cured by a steriod injection, now 6mths later it has returned this because I have been decorating, I shall be seeing Dr Armed soon to get a steriod injection. Streching the arm does bring on the pain. AGEVAL
