TENS machine

Just a thought! Anyone have experience using a TENS machine for their loved ones pains and stiffness. I did a search but nothing came up. My hubby is not in pain yet but I see many are in pain and I am looking ahead, building up a notebook of tips etc. As the TENS machine works on impulses to the nerves, wondering if it could help with PSP

Hi Daffodil;

No experience with my CBD hubby, but I purchased and used one years ago for constant muscle strain in shoulder and back. It was somewhat, sort of, OK - maybe a little helpful - no lasting result. "Meh" as some would say!

Tried it on my husband's back pain with CBD but he said it didn't seem to help.

He also tried a normal physio and he was quite sure that only made it worse. Treatment was quite severe massage.

He then found someone who seemed to be an 'alternative medicine' physio. Can't tell you how she was different as we were traveling at time. Her treatment of muscle pain was gentler and did help. Maybe more of a massage. We went back again.

I don't have PSP but have found pain due to nerve damage also not helped by physio who is used to treating muscle strain. Nwrve pain needs much gentler treatment

I found support with buckwheat pillow at base of spine very helpful as moulds to back contour and supports without moving. Also heat helps and gentle massage. I remember a post about massage releasing cramped hands here a while ago too.

Used it on Larry for his back. He said it made him feel better while it was on but once off nothing. Switched to a heating pad.

I have tried a TENS machine for back/hip pain with some benefit but as it gives quite strong tingling sensations, I wonder if it may be too distressing for a PSP sufferer. Obviously, the higher you set the machine the stronger the impulses, so maybe a very light strength could be helpful. It could be a case of try it and see.

Good luck. xx
