Dear Tim and Trish thank you both for sharing your lives with us. I found it so helpful to read your posts when my husband was still alive. I still read them and can see things are getting worse Tim. Not helped I am sure by the sad loss of Jack.

Both of you have been to hell and back already. Life is just not fair is it? Wishing you the strength to see this through. I feel so terribly sad for you both.

Eat as much ice cream as you can!! You deserve it. Just don't eat the dog treats...or anything else you shouldn't Tim. 😀

Much love to both of you.

Thank you Marie, it has been a difficult time... especially over the Christmas holidays. Thank you for your suggestion about the ice cream... like there is any other choice lol.

Just posting the link in case that's useful for anyone.

Thank you for sharing this Tim. I have probably said this before, but my mum was never able to share her thoughts or experiences of PSP with me. Your blog fills some of the gaps. Your determination to be as well and as active as you can be is an inspiration.

Here in the Northumbrian hills we have had a late bout of heavy snow. Quite a shocker as the birds had been busy nest-building and our bees had been bringing back pollen from the early snowdrops and crocuses. Whilst most of the snow has gone, there are still several deep drifts that prevent us from getting our car out. I made the most of it by building a sledge run down the steep hill in front of our little cottage, but like you, I am yearning for springtime, days pottering in the garden and the warmth of the sun on my skin. Hold on! We can't have long to wait now!

With warm wishes and deep admiration,

Janet

So sorry to hear about all the snow this winter in the UK. My snowmance wears off rather quickly (:

Thanks for the link, Janet. Reading Tim's blog has gotten me through the extra dark hours of this early morning. I really dislike the first day of daylight savings time. If I had my way we'd move the clocks ahead an hour on a Monday afternoon!

Oh My Goodness ... what an awesome blog. I don’t often share too many of these PSP posts with Bob (as I’ve said before) but had to share some of your paragraphs with him ... we laughed and we cried. In our pretense that life is normal, it felt good for us to share the humor and sadness of this disease! Thank you, Tim.

Wonderful to have you back here, Tim. Sorry, again, for your tragic loss. What an awful thing, losing a child.

I just caught up on your blog, thanks to Janet's providing the link. My iPad is running out of juice now, but you got me through another sleepless night. I'm grateful for your shared experience and insight. I deeply admire your stubborn resistance to PSP, and your ability to write so clearly and honestly. I enjoy your humor.

But while I trust your experience on drinking Listerine, I prefer to stick with even cheap whiskey -although, strictly speaking, maybe taking a shot of Listerine wouldn't mean breaking my Lenten abstinence...hmm...never mind!

Hang on, Tim. Even here in Maine, spring is getting closer. It will come. My geraniums in the windows are setting buds. There will be color again.

Love,

Sarah/Easterncedar

Hi Sarah,

It was Listerine 0... all the same great germ killing power as regular Listerine with none of the alcohol. Still, it would have been worth it had it the extra zest.

Tim xx
