indistinguishable Symptoms

Charles has had "three" bad days. Can't completely tell me what's wrong except stiffness, tiredness, etc. We've been through this but would like an opinion/suggestion from our PSP patients on this website.

Thanks so much, everyone.

I would get the GP involved! Could be an infection. S has no comprehension of pain or associated problems. Even when he could still communicate, struggled to describe any feelings or sensations.

Lots of love

It could be a chest, throat infection - do you check for bed sores regularly? Also, patients can develop hemorrhoids so plz have that checked - also you should keep track of diet and bowel movements, PSP patients can develop constipation and it leads to pain and delirium

I tend to think that is just the nature of the beast, bad days just seem to come and go with no rhyme nor reason. Some times I find that it is really difficult for me to walk or I have a wobbly day where I fall over a lot but this either passes or the next day is better. I think that I am lucky in a way because most of my days are good. Keep up the good work I am sure that Charles appreciates you.

Thanks steph02. I think it's a bad run but like you said it can come and go. Charles memory is perfect and his mind fine. That's the sad part. He can't explain it either, none of us can. And I appreciate you.

You can Have a good day and not the next . .

It changes all the the time .. J has gone a few days where I haven't been able to rouse him even then suddenly come back in as if nothing had happened ,

we might have had an easier round of days and then next day when I get up its completely awful . Even after twelve years I still get disappointed when this happens and even a bit angry . Not with John of course .

Dear cabbagecottage,

Yes, yes so strange. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, like nothing has happened. I, too, get angry and tnse at the situation where we are helpless. But still find time to have a laugh. And we make silly games up. That helps. Thanks so much.

I'm going through the same thing myself and i don't have PSP....for me I think it is the weather...for your mate with PSP, could be weather could be just a thing that will come and go. Does he have a fever? is it one particular area that is sore? You been exercising him too much?...Not eneough....That's all I got....I read the other posts and I tend to agree with Steph02...Though if it concerns you, you might call his dr!

This disease likes to keep you on your toes and as others have said things seem to come and go. Sometimes it is subtle changes and others more obvious. Kate x
