Nasal speech is caused by ..

after a couple of years I figured out why voice is nasal and why my head gets stuffy at times and then iis ok at times over and over during each day. It is because of dysphagia. My swallowing is ok at times and not ok at times every day and when it iis not ok my sinuses don't drain. I become mouth breather and and get stuffy head. PSP nasal voice -riddle solved. Swallowing is impaired but no PEG yet. Anybody else notice this?

Hi, perhaps a nasal spray would help, or a rub to get the fumes up into the nose, to clear it. Or just sucking some throat sweets for colds. Anything to keep the passage ways free. It might help with the stuffy feeling, if it doesn't do anything for your swallowing. You mention certain times of the day are worse than other times. Is it always the same time of day, or after doing a certain action. Try keeping a diary to check if it's something that could be avoided! Just a thought, be interested to hear if you notice anything!

Lots of love

Hi. Try a nasal decongester. Chemist sell them, they are meant for babies to extract mucus. It worked with hubby when he was no longer able to blow his nose.
