Eating and drinking problem

Hi my dad woke yesterday morning and couldn't eat said his throat wS to sore is anyone else experiencing this would appreciate how u get thro this mart of psp cheers debbie (glydes)

Hi Glyder, it may be to do with PSP but if my husband said his throat was sore, I'd get him checked out by the GP to rule out throat infection or anything else. If he has choked and coughed very recently, he could have hurt himself that way but I'd still get him looked at by the GP as he needs to keep eating and drinking to maintain his strength. I hope it soon gets sorted.

Thank you I will do that as he strains his throat all the time with trying to cough cheers glyder

Debbie, I could be that his throat is dry or something else. My wife got to the point that eating was a real chore and thus she would tire and stop after a few bites. PSP affects the tongue, mouth, throat, etc. Everything involved in the eating/swallowing process thus eating can become a real chore for the patient. Perhaps he is on some medications that dry the throat/mouth? Hope you get an answer. Jimbo
