managers and several days of trying here I am again. I had a dreadful week last week with my poor hubby falling, grabbing hold of the wash basin and pulling it off the wall and the next morning he managed to pull over a five foot , five drawer chest. Amazingly he wasn't hurt. That morning, Friday, I took him to the hospice day centre and wasn't my usual cheery self after very little sleep and the trauma. One of the nurses asked me if I was OK and I told her how I felt. On Sunday afternoon at 2.50 pm I had a call from them asking if I'd like a couple of hours to myself from 3-5. Although very short notice I wasn't going to say no and had a lovely couple of hours in a friend's garden. On Monday evening I had a call asking if I'd like a night nurse to come in and I slept all night for the first time for 3 years. I couldn't believe it but the same thing happened the next night. Wednesday we were back to normal but today someone rang to invite my hubby to stay at the hospice for 4 nights. I took him 2 hours later to a beautiful room with French doors opening on to a garden full of fragrant roses. I cried when I left him (not so he could see) but made up my mind to make the most of these few days. I went out for a meal with friends and now feel very relaxed but not at all sleepy (I usually feel exhausted all the time) perhaps the bottle of wine made a difference. Up until Sunday I had never had any sitters other than from my son's on occasions and now this. I feel truly blessed and wish everyone in our situation could have the same help.

Thank goodness I've found you all again. I've had terrible trouble with this site and couldn't get anything but after advice from site
hello nannab hiow dreadful fir yu to have to cope with all that but how wonderful you can get some much needed releif from yiur hospice- i too have had dreadful trouble from this site since it was ''' improved ''
Hi Sasha, I popped in to see my husband today and the nurse said they were keeping him for an extra night. I asked why and she said there are lots of them and they are finding it difficult so can't understand how I'm managing alone. It's weird not having him here and I'm missing him a lot but it is good to get a decent night's sleep.

hi nanna b an shasa and judy jill daughter strellie jo jo and the lady from west australia alana who gave me such wonderful information about the bidet which i had trouble trying to convince my wife to get but never succeeded\\\ to everyone on this site that was a really great story nanna b and all those things could not have happened to a nicer person i for one was really very pleased that things came your way its really nice when it does happen is't it mate \\ well i went away for a holiday to cairns in north queensland by train a sleeper of course but the thing was that my wife nor myself could climb up the ladder to get into the top bunk so we just top and tailed it on the bottom bunk you never seem to get much sleep, anyway we have been up there 4 times by train and enjoy it very much but this time went queensland class up there and came back on the normal still a sleeper by the way being queensland class you get waited on and sit down to a table for your meals and get your bunks put down and all that jass and tea and coffee all day if you want it but of course you have to pay for it but it was very nice for my wife no cooking no nothing we left brisbane at dam on sunday morning and arrived in cairns at 3 --45 on monday afternoon got off the train and went to our hotel on the esplanade and right into the centre of things which was good for me \ for walking around with my walker we had good weather up there it was sunny a mere 27 degrees but no humidity so it was lovely a little bit chilly at times but that was in the casino where we happened to pop in to have a look and i won 680 dollars which was also very nice and the price of the meals were very cheap as well\\\ so it was getting warmer by the minute now if you have ever wondered about balance classes you should try the train believe me- its a work of art but i never had one fall
i had 8 no only joking i was as good as gold on there no travel sickness no falls no nothing except relaxing and just looking at my wife who does not like being stared at \\ but i was thinking how lovely she looked and not worrying about me probably made her feel a hell of a lot better it was a good break for us both and i wished that all 0f you that was having a hard time could have been here to enjoy it well folks thats the end of story except we used our pension card to come back on just the plain old sleeper but still exciting we saw no wildlife except a few farmers an cowboys well everybody take care of yourselves ps a lot of backpackers go to cairns and japanese and chinese its a mixed bag but good to all enjoying themselves peter jones queensland australia psp sufferer
Hi Peter, I can't help chuckling at the thought of you top and tailing. Could you get off the bunk ok?. My hubby can't get up from low beds which puts me off going away except to specially adapted places (few and far between). I'm so pleased you had a good time and your wife was able to relax a bit. I get a bit freaked out when my husband stares at me, unblinking for ages but in future I'll just believe he is thinking how lovely I look .........even though he is probably thinking, "When is she going to get my dinner".
Best wishes to you both.

hi nanna b thank you for your reply its taken me ages to find your message i got half of it but had trouble finding the rest of it never mind
i have just had a new em system put on my computer as well so it has thrown me for a while until i get used to it ========if ever
i know it must freak a lot oif people out when we stare but it cannot be helped im afraid mate but you have the right idea just think of hes thinking how good i,you, look and you will not go far wrong\\ i think all sorts of things wnen i stare at my wife she gets a little bit upperty and tells me off but it s soon forgotten i think about when we were younger\\ you know the way to a mans heart is through hes stomach mate so when you said he is probably thinking when she going to get my dinner --------- no im sure he would not be thinking that at all \\ that sounds more like me -------- not really only joking
have i done the right thing by her\\ after being married for so long all sorts of things go through my head then i have a blink and come down to earth but its just the psp way of saying things but being unsaid well mate it was nice having a chat with you give your husband my
regards and tell him to stick with it and to take care watch out for the falls best regards peter jones queensland australia psp sufferer
Hi Peter, My hubby sends his regards as well and said he'll try not to fall. 5th August 1972 was our wedding day so we have had 41 years together as a married couple. Things are difficult now but we still feel the same about each other and I'm so grateful I met him 45 years ago.
Best wishes to both you and your wife.
