CBN for sleep

I wrote previously about my goal to try CBN for sleep. Nothing helped me much with sleep. I had tried pretty much everything recommended including supplements and prescription meds.

I bought some gummies with 10 mg each of THC CBD and CBN. I believe that these helped so I was motivated to make my own.

Where I live the legalization of cannabis was handled badly completely messing up the market. The minor benefit of this is that I can get free high quality cannabis (a couple of years old) from many of my neighbors.

I decided that the the easiest way to convert THC to CBN is with UVB light. I set up a timed exposure box and as a first test treated a couple of ounce of ground up 6 year old cannabis. I ground it to a powder removing the sticks and leaves first. I put it under strong UVB light for 8 hours turning the herb over several times to exposure different parts. I have since added a vibrator that I hope will keep the herb stirred without having to intervene.

After treating the cannabis was held at 240 degrees F for a half hour to decarboxylate and CBN or remaining THC acids to active form.

The first night I took about .6 gm an hour before bed. I had not considered that the night was gong to be very short having to get up at 4 AM to drive to radiation appointment.

This was definitely too much. I slept very well but was a bit stoned for most of the following day. Last night I took half as much and again had a good amount of sleep with no hangover. This is quite surprising because I am at a hotel and generally do not sleep well in hotels that I can afford.

I also had very minor hot flashes compared to what I am used to.

My sleeping and peeing patterns vary so much that it is certainly too early to say that the CBN is the answer but so far it seems better than anything I have tried before. Since I have a fair amount of effort into this project there is certainly a good chance of placebo effect.

I am stuck here for 4 more days of treatment and after that time should have a better idea as to how effective the CBN really is.

My husband also took .3 gm last night. He has had problems sleeping for many years having sleep apnea etc. He reported (and it is confirmed by the information from his Aura monitor that he got a very good night's sleep.

I hope that this continues to work for us. If at some point I think that this stuff is really helpful and that I m not just deluding myself I will write up complete instructions as to various ways to convert THC to CBN.

Whatever works I guess, but that seems like a lot of work for the end result. I found a similar product you might want to try if you can find it. It's called Dreams and each gummie has 15 mg of CBN and 15 mg of Delta 8 THC. It's made by a company called VIIAHEMP (I think can be found at viiahemp dot com). But I got it at my local vape store, where I can also buy legal (for now) THC gummies, either Delta 8 or Delta 9 (Delta 8 milder, and Delta 9 more concentrated. Cannabis is not legal in GA but these Delta versions are), which I take on occasion for a general 'background buzz'). I take just half of a Dreams gummie and it seems to work well. Good luck on your treatment journeys.

I will look for the dreams. Does it work pretty well? In CA THC is legal. I have a friend who is giving me 20 pounds of old trimmed high quality pot. I can make a lot of capsules with that. It has to sit under the light for 8 hours or more but nothing needs to be done. then decarbing takes a half hour. i could do a half pound at a time which would last me for years.

I can not find the gummie you mention nothing with 15 mg of CBN and THC delta 8 and whatever i find costs about $3 per gummie. I have all this stuff for free. I am going to inquire about testing. A grower friend might be able to stick my stuff in with her tess.
