High Gleason score + .2 PSA

Want to share this link about when to start salvage radiation after surgery.

Only a few years ago, the cutoff PSA for starting radiation was .5

Now, my doc and others want to start before it gets to .2 (I'm at .11, and I have a "risk factor" due to Gleason 9 score)

Best wishes.

Good advice! I've seen too many patients wait until something is visible on a PSMA scan, which is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was in a similar situation. PSA was non-detectable for about 5 years after RP. Started to rise. Oncologist ay University of Pennsylvania ordered IMRT at .13 becuase of the rate of increase over 12 months. ADT was not indicated at this PSA level and am back to non-detectable at 10 months after completion. No appreciable side effects.
