My RO just asked me to poop before each treatment to clear the rectum.

I was asked to "empty my bowels" with assistance of an enema, not eat any food that might cause gas within 24 hours (look up FODMAP for suggestions), and make sure my bladder was plenty full just before treatment. I ate lightly the day of treatment, but that was to avoid gas filling my rectum, which increases exposure during treatment.

Hi. Not sure where you’re getting your treatments, but when I used NYU Cyberknife they provided clear prep instructions which included an enema prior to each treatment as well as dietary suggestions.

I encourage you to contact your provider as early as possible Tuesday morning and have your questions addressed.

Lots of good luck!!

Thanks so much! I’m also being treated at NYU and they have made dietary suggestions. I’m planning on taking an enema that morning, although they didn’t require it.

I'm just dropping in to wish you the best. You've caught this early, have a good plan and are getting great treatment.

I’ve had my first 2 SBRT treatments and all went well. I have a question: I’ve just noticed a slightly tender, small nodule by the opening where the balloon is inserted. Maybe it’s from my insertion of the enemas (I think I’ve had to “poke” around to insert it correctly). Any advice?
