Question: anyone experience joint discomfort (not really pain) while on Lupron? Specifically, in knuckles, knees and/or ankles. If you've experienced this, suggestions for dealing with it? Or, is it likely that this aging process (I'm 70) is the culprit?
Appreciate feedback and insights.
Thanks,

I talked to my Oncologist about them - because I had several metastases on bones. I was told that as long as the Lupron was working and my PSA was low it was most likely usual aging. I have a bone scan every year and the results are very good.
Lupron can cause loss of bone density (among many other side effects; none of them pleasant). Docs often recommend calcium and vitamin D to help lessen the affect of Lupron on bones.
I found joint pain a definite side effect of Lupron. I heard many things, some ok like hit bath with epson salts to a And wacky one from a woman In my cancer support group: she swears by it. Robin your joints with Vicks Vapor-and keep it on at night.....you could try.
I kinda live with the discomfort. I wish you the best.
Be well. Ciro.
I had severe joint pain especially in my hands. It was so crippling that my fingers would lock up and I got to the point where I could not open a traditional door knob. We were going to have to change all the knobs to the lever style but then I got off the Lupron and things improved and I got back to normal. No more problems with my hands at all.
