I'm struggling with not having in desire for sex. Sex rehab (masturbation) is important if I hope to have wood after Lupron therapy. 7 more months to go. Where did my dick go? Guess I'm not the sensual being I thought I was. Wrong time to be single and gay

Lupron is evil and must be destroyed! LOL

Although docs may talk about ADT side effects, I don't think anyone fully understands the changes that this drug causes unless they've experienced it. I had read about it and talked with docs. But, I was not prepared at all for the devastating effects of this drug (and it doesn't even "cure" cancer; it just "starves" the cancer of its "food" source - testosterone.)

The effects of Lupron are life changing and, for me, devastating. Depression, despair, sadness, loss of sex drive, loss of energy, wt gain (which causes other problems), cardio and bone density issues, disappearing testicles (will they return? Haven't gotten a straight answer from anyone on that one), hot flashes that wake me up, and so on.

And, to top it off, there's no consensus in the literature about how long one is supposed to continue on this drug. 6 mos? 12 mos? 18 mos? 2-3 yrs? Life? And, does it actually increase longevity? Who knows? My last injection is supposed to be in May and its duration is supposed to be 3 months. BUT, oh btw, Lupron remains active and in one's system for months after the last injection was given. So, at best, it'll begin to wear off in the fall/winter of 2019. Maybe.

And, docs say to masturbate to keep blood vessels and nerves from atrophying (while your dick and balls are shrinking). Seriously? I bought at pump and, yes, it works so I'll keep using it in the hope that...

So, "Nosex4me," my rant is merely a way of saying, "I understand. You're not alone. The cards you've been dealt SUCK (and not in a good way). And, it AIN'T you; it's the f-ing drug."

Hang in there.

Btw, the only thing that has helped me (and I've tried changing my diet, including no alcohol. Yikes! Just when one needs a drink! LOL But I've still gained 10-15 lbs. Thank god I was relatively ave build before ADT) is exercise. I'm no gym rat but force myself to go and push myself to do 60-90 mins a day of impact and resistance exercises (to slow the effects of Lupron on my bones and heart). Exercise has also helped with the mood swings and hot flashes. Even walking seems to help. Give it a try if you haven't already.

Good luck to you.

Oh, btw, read "Androgen Deprivation Therapy: An Essential Guide for Prostate Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones, 2nd ed." Excellent layman's guide to ADT, what to expect and strategies for coping with the side effects.

I agree with EdinBmore. I have NO idea how one can masturbate while on ADT! In my opinion, it’s impossible. I tried many things and would recommend trimix injections, just to keep the blood flowing... it may result in some positive sensation, but I can’t say as I never used it while on ADT. I’ll never forget the doctor telling me, “if I thought it would change the man you are, I wouldn’t recommend it.” Well, it did and now I realize I should have asked him whether he had actually talked to any of his patients about the effects. Devastating in my opinion!

But, to look at it from a positive perspective, the cancer is halted. And, like I said, if ED is your biggest concern, trimix injections should fix that. Injecting your penis sounds frightful, but it’s really no big deal, especially given the results! 😁

It IS a strange kind of struggle, the loss of libido during ADT. Actually it's better to think of it not as lost, but in hibernation.

You are correct in the knowledge that penile rehab during Lupron shots is absolutely critical to keeping your sexual functioning intact.

Where did your dick go? To the same sleepy place your libido is hiding. And that sleep of forgetfulness, if you succumb to it and stop the jackoffs, will likely wreck your sexuality if you're not proactive with keeping the erections going.

How?? If you a feeling of zip libido...?

Well, sir, I invented a simple device called the JoyLoop, which you make yourself in literally five seconds. This is made from a 6-ft phone charger cord with the ends attached.

The Loop works for me because unlike cock rings, which constrict to hold in blood, this device pulls your genitalia tighter against your body yet is non-constrictive, so that blood flow is not disrupted.

Please go to my initial post "A Big Hello to Everyone..." and scroll down aways, and in a reply you'll spot the link. Open it to find a detailed document (JoyLoop Intro) I wrote for the benefit of every man with ED, particularly those in treatment for PC. There will be no payent, no marketing, no money grubbing by me -- the Loop is so incredibly simple and functionally effective that to try and make money from it would cheapen its spiritual and psychological significance.

Please try it, because erectile success begins to revive the libido, which in turn makes you eager to get the next rehab erection, and yada yada yada...!

Please give it a try, and may you preserve your erectile functioning! Good luck.

Everything I told you in my first reply is true: the JoyLoop "erection enhancer" is just what I said it is. I'm hoping you will grasp the importance of utilizing the Loop to create and/or enhance your masturbation efforts -- so that you will experience etectile success...that will begin to wake up your somnambulent libido.

You are in the ADT Danger Zone: cratering libido leads to slowing down, and finally no masturbation. You're taking daily low dose Tadalafil or Sildenafil? And the vacuum pump -- as completely unnatural as that is -- must be included in the limited toolkit to treat ADT-induced ED.

The JoyLoop is no joke, no fluke. It has saved my erectile functioning in the depths of ADT treatment.

I urge you to use it to make sure you have at least 1-2 erections per day. And this Loop you make yourself is capable of helping you have multiple erections per day, as your libido recovers with an end-run around no-T: more blood flow!!

Make it so, #1!

That’s all understandable. Yet, there is so much more sensual/ sexual expression that not all about penetrating and ejaculating.

Tantric sex, tantric massage. Some hugging, kissing, and cuddling. It ain’t over till it’s over!
