Kegels hadn’t worked. And after years of leaking, I tried pelvic floor therapy. Turned out this was much broader in scope: vertebral examination revealed nerve damage lower down than my bout with sciatica years ago. So, stretch out those discs. Next, discover the incontinence triggers. For me they were caffeine and alcohol. Check, but I just can’t give up morning coffee. Next, different exercises for different muscle groups. Not only those muscles around my rectum, but also the whole area so I had to exercise by squeezing my knees inward around a ball. Next, exercising lower core muscles. But the good news is the leaking has reduced to such low levels, I’m amazed and satisfied. I’ve been warned that I will have to keep up with all the exercises forever. The key is finding a therapist with a specialty in pelvic floor therapy. This was easy in Chicago - my urologist gave me a list of about 30 people.

Always good to hear a success story. I did two rounds of pelvic floor rehab. The first was a bust. But the pelvic floor rehab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC was remarkable.
