Last Tuesday I lost my partner of 38 years to lung cancer after 20 months of hell. Between my prostate cancer diagnosis 10 years ago and my partner's lung cancer I'm just so fed up with dealing with cancer. It is such a wretched disease. My stubborn Italian was so intent on defeating it but it was a battle he just couldn't win. But I hope I will win my battle and I hope all the men on this site will also win their battles. Not sure why I'm writing this, I just needed to vent because I'm scared and lonely now. And I know the people on this site understand what it is like to deal with this stupid disease.
Yes, little Gino has also been grieving, he won't let me out of his site now.

I am sorry for your loss. We all know about loss and we all worry about it. We worry about those we leave behind just as much as leaving them. But, we all have more to discover and to enjoy. In the future Cancer will be defeated, how far in the future nobody knows, but it will happen.
Hey Blue, Many, many of us are in the same boat with you. You go thru pain, hurt, why me, madness, lonelyness, depression, and finally time moves on and you somehow begin to accept your condition. It is in our nature to keep fighting, so we do. Know that many people are worse off than you, so chin up, and hope for a happier future. We feel for you sooo much. Keep venting to us as we are good listeners. Hugs.
Hey, gli italiani sono forti--sia benedetta la memoria di Gino--hey, Italians are strong, blessed be the memory of Gino!
Blue, I don't know what I could say that could offer any comfort with your loss. Just picturing losing someone that close and the struggles you both endured makes me cry. Wish I was there to hold you and share in your sorrow. I'm here in Phoenix if you would like someone to talk to. 480.270.9130 Sending big, heartfelt hugs. Randy
I hear you. I just want you to know that, while you are lonely, there are others (like myself) out there who feel the same way. Life is not fair. But you vented and look what you wrote: You have the fighting spirit to win against your personal cancer!!!!
Hey Blue, I know what it feels like to loose someone very close. It's not something you ever get used to but it's something you Learn to accept. In time, your sorrows will turn into moments when you chuckle over a fond memory. Those are the things we hold onto in the midst of missing someone we love and miss so much!
Blue you are compassionate and courageous! I honor you for caring for your partner while fighting your own fight. We stand by you. If you ever need a human voice just holler on here.
