Duodart dutraside

Iam a newbie so not sure if i am posting correctly but my question is i have been taking duodart for 5 weeks for an enlarged prostrate and frecuent urination but so far i have not had any improvement and still have to get up 4 times a night to urinate is it to soon for results as i know other guys who take the same med and sawimprovement in 2 weeks

Have you had MRI? What is your PSA?

Mri no my psa is 2.5

Be patient. It may take 1-2 months for Dutasteride to shrink the prostate gland.

The only thing that concerns me is that iam into my 5th week on dutasteride and i am still having to get up 4 times a night to pee the medication has had no affect at all so far

Some percentage, about 10-15% of men, don't respond to Dutasteride. I don't know how to test for that, however.

Have you been diagnosed? Have you had a prostate biopsy? Have you had a DRE? You could be dealing with BPH (enlarged prostate) or prostate cancer. If BPH, this sort of drug is what I consider to be a 'band-aid'. You may need TURP (roto-rooter) surgery. If it is prostate cancer, well that is a whole other matter. Does your presence here on this forum indicate that you've been diagnosed with prostate cancer?
