It appears as though a diet high in Omega 3 may curb the growth of prostate cancer cells in men with early-stage disease.

I was taking Omega-3 for years before being diagnosed with PCa so I can contest that even though your article is proabbaly true it didn't work for me :-)

Agreed , it didn't work for me either. The trial was to test those under active surveillance and there was a fairly marginal reduction in progression with those taking Omega 3. So there were still a lot on the Omega 3 cohort who still progressed to more serious cancer.

Hilarious. I just saw my oncologist, and just got an after-visit note:

STOP taking: fish oil-omega-3 fatty acids 1,000 mg capsule (Fish Oil)

FreeStyle Libre 3 Sensor Device (Blood-Glucose Sensor)

I've taken 4 grams of Omega 3 Ethyl Esters (which would be about 16 grams of fish oil)for 30 years. Decades ago I use to see Triglycerides of very high (over 250). My last visit Triglycerides = 50.

It seemed odd, so I did some research. Yes, there is some indication that they (omega 3's) can be negative vis a vis prostate cancer and then there's some that shows a positive effect. Go figure. My response is, I'll take 2 grams a day.

Why, in God's name did my doc order me to stop using a blood glucose monitor? How very odd. ADT is known to increase blood glucose, and again, for God's sake, there is a strong connection with increased insulin and cancer activity.

The other hilarious part is when they asked me if there were any medication changes, I said, "no." Why? Because there is no way that they could, or would bother to investigate what I take.

Prior to taking Orgovyx + Abi, in an effort to protect myself (I chose to not start ADT for 5 months, for reasons I'll not get into. Research shows that there are quite a lot of supplements and adjuvants that specifically interfere with cancer's ability to spread and for a cluster of cells to attach to a blood supply, creating a tumor.

Among these were Trans-Pterostilbene; Curcumin, Bioperine; Astaxanthin; Berberine, Ashwaganda and Cayenne Pepper extract. All have decent in-vitro data. But get this: All of those utilize (I do find this interesting) our Cytochrome P450 3a4 enzymatic system.

And what does Orgovxy and Abirtaterone use? 3a4. Therefore, if I kept taking the above every one of those would have an effect on the blood level of the Org + Abi.

In short, the doc should have said: Stop those.

It just goes to show the absolute lack of holistic knowledge that our medical system uses.

I knew that what I took would never, ever destroy my PCa and that was not the target that I aimed for. All I wanted to do was to hinder PCa's ability to seed mets.

Last July my PSA was 54. In December just before starting Org + Abi, I had my PSA checked again, expecting a rise, after all cancers grow. The result was 49. Interesting, yes, definitive, nope.

I have stopped all those as one of them could have increased my blood level of Abiraterone by as much as 9x! Think that would have increased adverse effects? I do.

Supplements that I continue taking are NAC; ALCAR; ALA and Green Tea Extract. Do they help? Who knows, but all are excellent in protecting health and ADT kills men, and the ones that don't get killed, are affected, so why not look towards natural things that offer protection? And each has an effect on PCa too.

At 6 weeks I had my first PSA test after starting the Org + Abi. My PSA dropped from 49 to 0.8. The oncologist seemed to do a double-take looking at that, but evaded my question about, "is that what is normally expected?" I have no idea if 49 > 0.8 in 6 weeks is mediocre, good, excellent or irrelevant--thus, is our life for those who have PCa

I'll keep taking my omega 3's and keep on using my Libre 3, thank you.

Orgovyx does work pretty fast. I took Orgovyx starting in mid-May (Post-prostatectomy PSA was 4.67 at a two-month doubling rate) and dropped to 0.155 by mid-June.

I am now maintaining 0.014 on a different agent of ADT with fewer side effects.
