My journey so far

Was diagnosed in 2023 with PSA of 8.9, after a biopsy was found to have 2 lesions 1 was benign and 1 was a Gleason 6. Fast forward a year and my PSA went up to a 13.9. Had a second biopsy and was found to now have 3 lesions, 1 benign, 1 a Gleason 6 and a third that is a Gleason 7 (3+3=6, 3+4=7 unfavorable intermediate). Met with a surgeon, due to the side effects (impotence, loss of penile length, Incontinence,) that is not an option for me. Met with 3 radiation Oncologists, 2 offered IMRT and the 3rd offered SBRT, (Cyberknife). Because of reduced side effects and it taking less time I chose Cyberknife. ADT was suggested by the radiation Oncologist, but I refused. I have heard from too many men that have done ADT that the depression associated with it is profound. I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict; I spent was too much of my life in a very dark place. I don't care if I lose some years off my life with that decision, I will not go back to that dark place as long as I have a say in the matter. I recently finished 5 Cyberknife treatments as far as side effects I did have some rectal bleeding even though I had a spacer gel implanted before the treatments (RO was puzzled by this but had no good answers as to why it happened). No ED at this point but the volume of semen that comes out when I ejaculate has already been reduced significantly.

Good luck on your treatment! Also, your 3+4 is intermediate favorable. 4+3 is intermediate unfavorable.
