I have taken 5 mg per day folic acid for the last 11 years to help reduce methotrexate side effects for my Rheumatoid arthritis and now have prostate cancer. It may be a coincidence, but I thought I would ask if others had heard about this.

How about Folic acid. i read prostate's have receptors that can help trigger cancer when induced by folic acid
Folic acid is one of the most ubiquitous nutrients. You can't avoid intake. There are many low level studies on every side. Patients are well-advised to ignore such twaddle, and understand that almost all studies of supplements are low level and display similar patterns.

It appears that methotrexate can speed up the spread of prostate cancer. In a year after starting methotrexate (for rheumatoid arthritis) my brother's PSA increased to the point that when he had a PSMA scan the prostate cancer had metastised in his abdomen and a lymph node.
Worth following up with your doctors.
Tall_Allen is more knowledgeable and has science behind his responses. But when my arthritis flares up I drink Rebbl Turmeric for three days and it makes a world of difference.
I think drinking cold water is the culprit...........
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
