PSA Bounce 3 months after Cyberknife

I had an initial PSA score of 9. in March.

went PSMA at end of June was clean 3+4

Clean PSMA on June 30

Went through Cyberknife finished 9/16.

First PSA is 11.9.

I never had another PSA after initial, so I don’t know PSA going in.

MO said an initial bump was possible , but hopefully my results would be lower than my starting point

Can’t talk to her until Monday

Thoughts?

Do you have a history of prostatitis?

i have had mild bouts from time to time. The MO did tell me that she was going to use what my results were as a “baseline” because-

-I didn’t not have a PSA close to starting treatment. So she felt we weren’t sure of the true baseline

She said “I’ll be happy if it is lower than 9, but SBRT inflammation can cause a rise even after 3 months.

I will talk to her Monday. Just was hoping it was more common than I’ve seen

I don't think one ever gets rid of prostatitis, and radiation can sometimes trigger it. All you can do is wait 3 months and re-test.

i think I may have made is mistake.

I had Cyberknife through a private group. When was getting opinions before treatment I met with the MO. After the consultation with her, (she agreed SBRT was a good option. She asked if I wanted to schedule a follow up after treatment. I said sure. Scheduled for 12/8.

Treatment got delayed. Last treatment was on 10/9.

When I went Friday I told her that my last treatment was 9/9. So she did a 3 month test. But it was actually on 10/9. So the PSA test was actually 1 day short of 2 months.
