Saw a documentary on Netflex called Diagnosis. The premise of the show is to use the internet to help diagnosis diseases for patients who have suffered because doctors can't figure out what is wrong with them. The segment I saw focused on a young woman who had been suffering for years was a condition that would come and go causing extreme pain and was unable to walk. Despite spending thousands of dollars no doctors could figure out what was wrong. She hooked up up with the TV show and doctors in Italy thought they may have the solution. So she and her fiance flew to Italy to see if she could be helped. After running a few blood tests doctors were able to diagnose her disease and offer a cure which was basically just a change in her diet. Needless to say she was elated mystery solved and she could get back her life. When it came to settle the bill the cost was 100 dollars. She was flabergasted there must be a mistake how could all those tests only cost 100 dollars? She had gone in debt paying exorbitant medical bills to find a solution. The Italian doctors just smiled and said that's because America is in the healthcare business and in Italy we are in the business of health. It shouldn't cost a fortune for healthcare...SMH
