ViewRay SBRT stock is now at .60/share

Many of us here went through image guided SBRT with ViewRay and had good results in regard to less side effects.

The company appears to have some financial issues, and unless something improves, or there is a buyout, I am wondering if it will survive.

I had treatment done at UCLA with Dr. Kashan with ViewRay in September of 2022, and was very impressed with the technology, but I wonder if ViewRay goes under will that technology be lost to patients? I cannot see UCLA or any facility continuing to employ it if the company goes under, because who would maintain it?

I hope they make it.

I had SBRT with Electa Unity MRI Linac.

yes, more powerful MRI used also. My understanding is that technology is exclusively in Europe, and the way things go on here, it can take some time before it comes here, cost for new technology being a major factor.

I have read that ViewRay and Electa have collaborated, so perhaps that might be an avenue for FDA approval here.

How was your experience with Electa image guided SBRT?

My PSA dropped from 1.4 to 0.31 six months after the treatment and will drop 12 more months.

I had CRPC in 95% of my prostate. The SUV max of the PSMA PET scan of my prostate was 14.

I was very happy that I had only 5 treatments and I am happy with the results.

I am not an expert but for you maybe proton beam treatment would be better? Some people had it in Germany payed by US insurance. Would you consider proton?

I didn't want proton because I will probably not live long enough to justify the lack of side effects, but for you maybe it will be worth it as you may live your full life. Could you consult an RO about that? I believe that there is also some genetic test which could recommend which type of radiation therapy is best for you.

I didn't waist my time I just took the opportunity to get the SBRT. You are not in a hurry therefore you could organise proton therapy even in Germany if you want. I wish you luck and find all the posts about that trip to Germany on our website.

I am on ADT drug Firmagon (Degarelix).

I already had treatment with Viewray Seaside, at UCLA here in the states 6 months ago, and PSA went from 2.8 to .5.

Still too early to determine the outcome and from my understanding, it can take up to two years.

I had very minor side effects from the treatment so far, and for that I am grateful.

Your results look very good, and I wish you the best.

Take care,

John

Are you on any ADT medication now? If not than why not?

no. My grade was 3+4 intermediate favorable. At this time they saw no need to add ADT. Decipher genetic test was low risk.

just take it a day at a time, and try to keep up with advancements.

Being monitored every 3 months, and in one year from treatment will have an MRI.

A main consideration why I choose SBRT, was the 5 day every other day Tx schedule versus 30 day for Proton therapy, and no evidence that Proton therapy outcomes are any better than other form of RT. It also did not require fiducials, though I did have SpaceOAR

I didn't have SpaceOAR

I was treated on ViewRay at UCLA as well and finished just a month ago. Price was at about $3 then and I was considering buying some stock. There didn’t seem to be a way that incredible technology could not be a good investment, and long term, I still think it can be

Anyone have insights on their issues? Cash, emerging disruptive technology, management? Am hoping they are an attractive acquisition for a string industry player.

Probably mismanagement

Their quarterly wasn’t that bad. I hope they can survive, or at least the technology gets exploited more here.

I happen to know its management and that is not the case. I am not sure why that supposition quickly becomes the default reason? The quarter did not meet analysts expectations nor does future cash flow. When that happens to thinly-traded stocks the bottom falls out. Not a conspiracy, it’s just the way markets sometimes react. FYI it’s easy to find online the analyst’s viewpoints and resultant price action. I bought at $4 and am disappointed but equities such as this are always a gamble. Big upside, and/or down….

it becomes the assumption because isn’t the CEO responsible? When a company does well the CEO gets credit, and the same holds if a company doesn’t do well.

Right or wrong

It has also fallen under the umbrella of at least two decades of tech sector nonsense where many companies with no validity or value were heavily over invested. Hopefully, this, and ingenious other products will survive.

Tech stocks generally are susceptible to the Federal Reserve decision to raise rates dramatically. Many emerging companies, and I am sure View Ray is no exception, borrow a lot of money, betting on the come so to speak, and when rates go up so fast, makes doing business much more difficult, and that difficulty is usually reflected in market movements.
