Have you had a MRI of your prostate?

Have you had a percent free PSA measured?

Has your PSA come down since starting Avodart?

You probably don't need a biopsy at this point because you are most likely metastatic. Just get a bone scan/CT when you start having symptoms, and take ADT for the rest of your life to relieve symptoms.

I totally agree; just take ADT if helpful and Flomax in AM & PM, and simply focus on enjoying your life, judg69

If you have not been on any androgen deprivation drug you might ask you doctor to prescribe one. Casodex would be a good place to start. There are few side effects.

I am curious why you have refused to get a biopsy over the last 17 years? I had two before I had surgery and the first was when my PSA was around 5. The biopsy compared to everything else involved with my prostate was the most benign process of all. I am just curious.

What was your PSA when you were 69? Do you have any symptoms? It would be interesting to see a chart of your PSA over the last 17 years, you certainly have a lot of data points.

Either way good luck.

As a side note, for anyone who might know, I am new and wondered is there a way to post graphs in this forum?
