13 months ago I did one shot lupron, then external beam, then brachy. I was 60 yrs old with localized cancer with 6,6 ,3-4, 3-4, 4-3 Gleasons and a PSA 8.58, and a large large prostate (37), BMI:37.8 and existing heredtry lymphadema(legs)
.
13 months later, my PSA is less than one (.19), my testosterone is in the low normal range, and "only" side effects are erectile issues and orgasm issues (id don't happen), and urinary difficulties which are totally taken care of by flomax at night. UNTIL two weeks ago. Suddenly, I am having constipation issues, and difficulty "going" when I do, and am also now urinating every two and a half hours like clockwork....
Is this a delayed side effect from the radiation? A change in reaction to medication? A sign that things are not as good as appear (next blood draw is 25 days away), or another issue unrelated to the cancer adventure? Any thoughts, insight or info is appreciated.

"Late term" side effects do happen. After brachy boost therapy, late term urinary side effects can occur, but late term GI side effects are rare. Your constipation probably is not from that.
You can take up to 2 Flomax/ day. I found one Rapaflo worked better than 2 Flomax. Hopefully, it will be transient.
I am 73 y.o., my Gleason was 4+3=7 (Risk intermediate Unfavourable) and I had VMAT Hypofractionnated 3 Gy X 20 Fx for a total of 60 Gy. Due to my other health problems, I did not get brachy-RT (Anaesthesia). Due to technical problem, my Eligard 45 mg/24 weeks on April 04 2020, after 2 months of testing for how much of the Eligard that I received, I was put on Lupron Depot 22.5 mg/12 weeks on May 31st 2020 and on August 24 th 2020.
Mine is 45.83 cc and it is considered large.
My PSA is 0.18 and my testosterone is <0.2nmol/L - <5.768ng/dL.
I have urinary problems (more often, burning sensation) but no intestinal problems so far.
I am 10 weeks post-RT and 15 weeks per-ADT (Lupon Depot)
I am about 3 years post treatment. Dx was Gleason 8, stage 4 (One suspected met to a femur) I had 37 RT sessions, LD Brachtherapy, and a10 session RT followup focussed on pelvic lymph nodes. Stopped Lupron and Casodex 18 months after treatment, but I've stayed on Avodart and Flomax since then. I had severely painful urinary issues beginning several weeks after treatment, lasting for 3-4 weeks, which gradually resolved. I'm pretty sure that due to the brachytherapy. PSA is still at around 0.01, pretty close to the limit of detectability. T increased to low normal the first 2 years, but now is actually below the low end of range. I'm again experiencing much fatigue, made worse by low thyroid, but I won't get TRT until research indicates that it's safe for my situation. Exercise helps.
