How long do I take Cailis after treatment.

I had SBRT six months ago for Gleason 3 + 4. All going well so far. How long should I take cialis for the rehab issue? My radiation oncologist seems not to have a definite opinion. I’ve been taking it mostly every other day since treatment. Don’t like the acid reflux or heart palpitations it brings but definitely want to protect sexual function. Thanks everyone! Appreciate your help on many issues.

I took it for 6 months after SBRT. Frequent sex or masturbation is protective too. I never had any ED.

Viagra, Cialis, etc. give me a headache. That said I am 77 years old and and penetrative sex was already a real challenge before HDB a month ago. Now I am completely limp. So frequent sex is out of the question except for masturbation. Thank God that gives me some erection. Any suggestions? Or perhaps I am being too hard, no pun intended, on myself and being unreasonable in expecting miracles at my age?

You can probably get an erection firm enough for penetration with trimix injections.

Don't know if there is research based data regarding this - how long to take ED meds post PC treatment. My uro gave me a script for Tadalafil 5mg troche - under the tongue - from a "compound pharmacy;" once a day. He did not indicate how long I should take it. Yes, it tastes bad but seems to have the desired effect. And, yes, despite the genital shrinkage - grrr - masturbation seems to help with keeping the parts in working condition.

I haven’t seen anything regarding f how long. I’d discuss in general with your physician. My urologist has a member of the team who just does sexual health. Good thing is you can experiment from time to time. Skip it and see if anything changes. Take 10 or 15 and see if anything changes. I notice a difference. My only side affect is a little warm feeling in my face.

I was prescribed with a daily low dose. From a strictly therapeutic standpoint (prevent scarring), my doctor said take this for 1 year. In terms of ED, tadalafil might be required as needed or longer term. I had nerves spared on 1 side and suffer from ED. I do not have a partner so I stopped taking tadalafil. Good luck.

I took low dose Cialys for 30 days before SBRT and intended to stay with it for 90 days but stopped a couple months after due to a side effect of metallic taste that really bothered me. I am 16 months post treatment and have had no diminished function and am happy I used it. Disappointed that I found the suggestion to use it on a forum and not from any Md.
