Prostatectomy recovery

Hello - I had RARP procedure a month ago. I’m still experiencing pain, mostly where my prostate used to be but also referring pain in my penis. Blood persist in my urine. I wondered if others who’ve had the surgery experienced similar. Comments on recovery as well as any relevant feedback is welcome.

I've had the pain too, slowly getting better after 6 weeks. At the four week point, my doctor said I was on the borderline of it being something to be concerned about - perhaps a hernia, perhaps nothing. Blood in urine after a month does seem to be a problem you need checked though.

My RARP was 7 weeks ago. Not experiencing pain per se - is your pain anywhere near the incisions? As jimbay noted, hernia is a possibility. Do you recall any significant exertion since the surgery. I do get a few drops of blood now that I have resumed running (not worried about it unless it increases) but no bleeding other than that - probable worth checking out. I assume you have a return visit with surgeon in a few weeks, but is there either a urology triage line or other means of asking about the pain and bleeding? I'm at Duke and they have both of these communication channels. Good luck and good health.
