My husband was diagnosed about 9 months ago with metastatic prostate cancer. He will turn 65 next year and we are starting to familiarize ourselves with Medicare insurance, which is a bit of a daunting task! So many choices, and with large RX drug costs as well as CT and PSMA scans in his future we are trying to find the best options for him.
This may be a can of worms, but any advice, recommendations etc would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you all!

Thank you NWLiving! This is exactly what we need. The journey has just started and we are resolved to embrace each day together with open eyes and fight like hell!
My husband is 70 and was recently diagnosed with the same. We are currently trying to get out of the Medicare Advantage Plan he is in and get back in Regular Medicare with a supplemental insurance. It's crazy!! We left a message with the CT local office a few days ago and haven't heard back yet. Meanwhile we found a friend who is helping us understand all the options. Good Luck!!! I'll let you know how we make out!
Thanks Izzygirl1! as I research it looks like regular Medicare with a supplemental is what we need. now to find the RX drug part D that covers his meds. I'll update here as we progress. Stay strong!
We found out we can switch off the Advantage Plan to the Regular Medicare but the company we go to for Supplemental will accept us but make him wait 3 months for coverage to be in place (which is impossible not to have any coverage for 3 months!) This will be the case even during Open Enrollment.
So choose carefully now! We wish we had gone with the regular Medicare with a Supplemental Plan and a RX Plan instead of the Advantage Plan. But it is what it is and we will deal with it. Hope all goes well for you!!!
