Hi there everyone!

So, Im aware T.E.N.S is often used during birth, however does anyone have any experience of using it throughout pregnancy? Or Know if its okay?

I am 6 months pregnant and am already suffering with back pain, Im only tiny so dont have a huge bump but the pain is made worse because I broke a bone in my spine 8 years ago...

Would love to hear from you

ohhh sounds painful, think they are safe to use all through the pregnancy...but check cos of ur broken bone, bless u sounds very uncomfortable, think u can hire them x

Thanks, I have one, I got it from boots, Its been painful pretty much 24/7 since it happened so as well as a million other things I have tried I used the tens on a regular basis before. It did work really well I just constantly worry as im sure everyone does about what is and isnt safe! My Midwife discussed Physio however I didnt find it helpful when i have had it previously, amazingly I am still fully able bodied so can still get around but getting comfy is a nightmare! x

Tens machines shouldn't be used before 37 weeks. Would advise getting your go to refer you to physio. They may have different suggestions for pregnancy so may be more helpful now

There are also only certain types of TENS machines that are considered safe to use for labour/pregnancy, so if you have one already it's worth checking that too. xx

Great to know, thanks everyone for the advise, I will be having words with the consultant at my next appointment! xx
