If you're in the UK you probably won't see your GP, you'll be told to refer yourself to your midwife unit. You'll have a booking in appointment with them at between 8/10 weeks to collect your green book and have blood tests done. Your first scan is around 12 weeks.
Have a look through the NHS pregnancy pages there's lots of information on your pregnancy journey on here. nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy...
Your first scan if you’re in the UK will be at 12 weeks (dating scan) and then at 20 you have your anomaly scan to check baby is A-OK. You can pay for private scans (around £40-100) from 6 weeks onwards for peace of mind if you can’t wait. We did, just to check that baby was growing where he was supposed to.
If you’re high risk you may also have a scan earlier.
