Early pregnancy worries!

Hi, wondering if anyone can help. I am currently 8-9 weeks and have stopped feeling any nausea. I do still have sore breasts but im worried that the lack of nausea means the baby has stopped growing. The NHS wont see me until im 12 weeks and im not sure how to find out for sure without waiting until then.

Hi there,

Not everyone has nausea Nadia - I didn't! Well I had it like 3 times and that was it, was sick once (I'm now 24 weeks, 6 months pregnant). I wouldn't worry. I just had extreme tiredness. Everyone has different symptoms and side effects of pregnancy. My friend told me that nausea is good as it means your body is producing all the hormones it needs - this freaked me out at the time, I thought am I not producing the right stuff to grow a baby?! I've had two scans so far, measurements, heart rate of baby taken twice and all is well so far...

I know it's an anxiety inducing time but try not to worry, I'm sure everything is fine. If you are really concerned call your midwife or Dr though, they will be happy to talk to you.

You might have nausea due to sudden hormonal changes. You don't have to feel sick for your baby to be ok! Some women don't hey nausea/ sickness at all!

Consider yourself lucky. It it helps, I had nausea week 7- 10. I'm now 19 weeks and scan was fine.

Hi there!

I wouldn't worry about the nausea, I didn't get nauseous until I found out I was pregnant at 12 weeks and then it hit me at all times of the day! I now have a 10month old boy :)

If worried you can go to your gp who will refer you to a early pregnancy unit

Best of luck x

I barely had any nausea one of the lucky ones! Although i did suffer with extreme back pain later on in the pregnancy 🙈 Try and stay off google every pregnancy is different ☺️ xx

I had no sickness or feelings of sickness for my entire pregnancy. I had sore boobs at the start and that was it. Wouldn't have known I was pregnant from symptoms otherwise right up until the end which was down to the size of me before I was due to pop.

I read into them all and worried as you are. Please stop!!

Also...people who have 'easy' pregnancies, and there are many of us, don't search the internet and write posts. Therefore it's very easy to see loads of articles about loss of symptoms meaning silent miscarriage etc (or other scary info) because people tend to post about their rare experiences in the hope of finding support from others in a similar situation. That is normal, but it makes it seem all these horrible experiences woman suffer to be more common than they actually are.

You find the horror stories if you go on mumsnet too...so avoid it. Any concerns, call your midwife. She will also tell you not to do internet searches. Worrying isn't good, so go with the flow (easier said than done, I know!! I really worried in the early weeks then worried all over again at the 20 week scan).

You're just one of the lucky ones if you get no symptoms. My midwife said some people's bodies cope better with pregnancy and are able to adapt to the change in hormones more easily than others. Whether that's true, who knows! However, no nausea is super common, people just don't post about it :-)

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
