Confused!

So the doctors said i was around 5 weeks pregnant but i did a pregnancy calculator infact i did 13 of them and theyve all said i was around 8 weeks pregnant? This goes from the first day of your last period... Is there in anyway that the doctor could be wrong? Im so confused! Help :(

Hey! Try not to worry too much... I think Gp's can never get it right, and a scan is the only way to tell! I'm 7 weeks and thinking of booking a private scan this week as i cant wait another 4/5 weeks to find out how far gone i am or my expected date of delivery!

Ok, so back to you.... You're right, they date your scan from the first day of your last period. When was this? Unless they did a scan, there is no way of the GP knowing how far gone you are unless you told him different dates about your LMP? What information did you give to the Doctor for him to think you are 5 weeks? Have you had a scan at all?

Happy to chat xx

I understand your anxiety at the moment because i've also been given a date for my 1st official scan on the 1st of may.

I guess it depends on the area we live in but i getting sick of waiting.

P.S roughly how much does it cost these days to get a private scan.

They asked me all that and i told them the exact date which is the first of febuary and they took blood tests and they said to me that i would be about 3-4 weeks and that was on the21st of march but the doctors have never got anything right for me ever so i dont know what to think and i dont have the money either does the babys dad to pay for a privet scan or anything:( im so confused? X

Apprentely when the doctors / nurses ask you about the 1st day of your last period they take that date & then add about 14 days to it to then decide the date of conception.

I always say though the only person who can be at least 99% sure is you & your partner/husband.

See me and the babys dad had sex the 12/13th of febuary which was around 7 days after my period ended as my periods are very short... Normally around 3-4 days if that. I recon with all the symptoms im further on than they say i recon i am about 8-9 weeks x

Ok, so if your last period was 1st Feb, you had sex on 12/13th Feb then i'd say you're 8/9 weeks pregnant...

I have just booked a private scan myself, as i cant wait another 4/5 weeks to find out how far gone i am, and that cost me £99. Or go to your local EPU (Early pregnancy unit) and ask for a scan to be done.

I think though, having blood test is quite specific. It's next best thing to a scan. However, i am unsure as to why he thinks you're only 5 weeks, if you've not had a period since 1st Feb. That would then mean you concieved 3 weeks ago..... Have you definitely not had a period since 1st Feb? :) xx

That's what I was thinking

I know I don't get why and deffinately absolutely posative :( xx
