Still confused

Hi I did a pregnancy test last week and it was a faint positive which I’m assuming it is positive?!

So I checked again after 3 days just so I’m certain before I could book an app with my doctor. And it was negative?

So today I did it again and it was negative??

So positive, negative and negative? I’m confused

I’m thinking it might be 3 different brands that I have used but if it’s positive it should show positive on every brand I purchase?

I’m getting lower back pains and I feel I am pregnant but it’s shown me negative today?

(The picture was my first test ever)

Hi, how many days late for your period are you? If you've not missed a period yet, you may not have enough hormone to make the rest positive.

Are you using your first pee if the day? If you're testing later on the day you may not have enough hormone yet to make the test turn positive.

The first test, to me looks like it could be a evaporation line, if you read the test outside of the time it tells you to read it an evaporation line can appear which looks a bit like a positive, which is why they normally say to read it within 5 minutes.

I was on my periods for two days and after the second day I checked and the picture above was the result?

Also I checked at 5pm

The second one was in the morning which was negative

If you had a period and negative tests, then perhaps you may have experienced a chemical pregnancy, or if the test was outside of the time frame perhaps the positive is the evaporation line. I checked some of mine after they'd been in the bin and the evaporation line made them look like they could have been positive when they weren't.

Oh no! I just hope it wasn’t a false positive

I'd probably go and see your doctor anyway as they will take your blood which will tell you if you are pregnant or not then you will know for sure.

I think I’ll do that

If it was past the five minutes of peeing on the stick I would say it was an evaporation line:( it happened to me before too

That result was within 2 mins ☹️

Oh that’s super confusing then. Go to the doctor and do the blood test to be sure!

I had the same thing happen to me, and I asked the hospital and they said that I was. You can have false negatives and positives, but it’s more likely to have a negative than a positive. Hope this helps.

Thanks I'm so tempted to check again but I've had a pint sized glass of water which i feel I may get a false result?
