My planned c section is on monday, I have to arrive at 730am. Does this mean I am first on the list or is this the same for all?

they usually ask everyone to get there for 7.30 then they let u know where u are on the list, and if there are any emergencies then it may change, ohhh exciting ur be meeting ur little one very soon all the best!!!! :-)

That's standard for any surgical morning list - the anaesthetist and obstetrician will review you and the other morning cases before the disappear into theatre to start working through the list. List prioritisation is usually based on need and other medical issues. Diabetics are usually done first as they are fasted and you want to get them eating again as soon, as are any ops that are expected to be difficult - idea bring the team are at their freshest. Then it's more or less random!

Good luck for today! Xx

can I ask how many weeks you are ? im pregnant with my second and after a pretty scary emergency section with my 1st will be requesting a planed this time . im expecting it to b a week b4 due date but understand it can vary on circumstance , my friend was took in only 2 days b4 her due date !

i have also requested a planned c section after an emergency with my first and they normally do it at around 39 weeks although i will be having mine at 39+2 (in just under 2 weeks, eeeek). i think it does vary a little but from what i know they aim to get you in around 39wks. I have gestational diabetes so they were more likely to take me in a bit earlier. Even if you go into labour before your c section date, you just phone up straight away and go in for the section.

Thank you. Is it nice knowing ur baby's bday ? Can I ask what was the deciding factor in decision ?

With my 1st I felt like such a failure , and untill he was about 2( he was 3 nov) I would have been hell bent on trying for a vback but then it just hit me how serious the situation was and greatfull that I had him this day and age as I believe he would not have survived labour without intervention, I was only 4 cm and he had dramatic decels going as low as 20 bpm and a baby's should b 150/170 as I'm sure u know , very scary! Anyway I got over the issue and realised it didn't matter how he got here just that he did safe and sound ( I knew that anyway but did have a big issue not birthing him ).

Iv got my 20 wk scan next week and believe I speak to a doc about delivery then but midwife hasn't asked anything.

My fear of ending up in another emergency far out weighs my desire to birth naturally so that's my kind of my deciding factor and I know the recovery from section , so know what to expect , how supportive were docs in your decision ?

Also my due date is 23rd Aug and my son starts school sep and want to b able to take him so giving myself some recovery time. Knowing my luck I would over 10 days then they would just take me in 4section anyway and I wouldn't be well enough ! but a good friend is getting married 17th Aug , my partner is best man! This is around the date I'm expecting to b booked in! She understands as she had 2 emergency sections after trying vbac with 2nd.

Also I'm finding it very frustrating people questioning why I'm going for planned as most know how rough I had it 1st time round and feeling the need to explain my decision ! Especially people that have had nice fast labours and uncomplicated births telling me I'm missing out on natural!

Sorry for all the questions.

Hi, i have mine booked for the 4th April, wisp be my third section, first emergency second planned at 39 weeks. When i had my planned i was taken down at around 10:30am and he was born at 11:19am. I have to be at the hospital for 7:30am and i have gestational diabetes so hoping i am not kept all day. I do know somebody that had a planned section about 8-10 weeks ago and she is diabetic but she was kept until 3pm before her section so not holding my breath, lol. Has long has my baby is healthy that is all i am.worried about just the waiting around.
